Prayer and God’s Purpose
“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.” - 1 John 5:14 NIV
What is God’s ultimate purpose for you and me? Paul answers that in the following text:
“For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.” - Romans 8:29 NIV
God’s goal is that we might be conformed to the image of His Son. Prayer plays a vital part in making this goal a reality.
God is so passionate about this goal that He foreknew, predestined, called, and justified us so that we would become like Christ. This in itself should encourage us to pray. Often we pray and think nothing is happening, but with God, something is always happening. When it comes to prayer, God is either answering our prayer the way we prayed it, or He is changing our heart through the Spirit’s intercession to get our prayer in line with His will.
So today, don’t think nothing is happening just because you haven’t seen anything yet. It’s simply not time.
“Father, not our will, but Yours be done, in Jesus’ name.”
Team Wade loves you and is praying for you.
