“A stone is heavy and sand is weighty, but the resentment caused by a fool is even heavier.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭27‬:‭3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

A Cure for the Ailment of Resentment

We know resentment hurts us deeply, yet we continue to resent. We know that if our children see or hear our resentment toward someone, we are teaching them how to resent us, yet we persist. Resentment isn’t just heavier than stone or sand—it’s infectious. It sickens us and those around us. We know the cure is forgiveness, but it is difficult. Fully grieving the loss caused by the person we resent may be the first step needed to forgive completely.

Make a list today of those you resent, and ask God for the boldness to forgive. In doing so, we will experience freedom.
