The Battle for the Mind

“Jesus said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’” - ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭22‬:‭37‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Prayer often begins in the mind. That’s why caring for our minds is vitally important. The problem with our mind is, though we are spirit filled as believers, the mind is still in its natural or unconverted state. In other words, the mind can often be contrary to God. We think oftentimes what we don’t want to think. Satan is constantly bringing to mind every kind of philosophy and empty deception (Colossians 2:8).

That’s why millions of people are buying into faulty systems. But Satan is also after the minds of believers. He knows that he can’t mess with our salvation because we are secure in Christ. But if the devil can mess with our minds and get us thinking like everyone else in the culture, he can render us useless in our impact for Christ. He can make our prayers wind up being as good as pointless because we are no longer praying in alignment with God’s will.

The question for today is this: “Are we going to be Satan’s dupes or Jesus’ disciples?” Our prayer life rests on how we answer that question. (Tony Evans)
