Clear Wisdom Among Clear Observations

“Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble.”

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 NLT

Observations gleaned from Ecclesiastes can seem confusing at times, but the overall message comes through. Trying to find enjoyment in earthly living is like chasing the wind.

Worldly pursuits amount to meaninglessness over and over again. No matter what we do we all wind up just as dead as the next guy. Empty striving leads to nothing but vapor and mist. I love the truth of Ecclesiastes when it says two are better than one. We know that’s the truth whether we want to admit it or not. We need each other. I need you. You need me. God never intended for us to do life alone, there are no islands to ourselves.

To have a friend is to be a blessed person. May we not just have a friend, may we be a friend! There’s nothing meaningless to that!
