Patience in the Pursuit

Hunting requires patience. You move quietly, stay alert, and watch for signs others might miss. You can’t rush the process—you have to slow down, pay attention to the wind, the tracks, and the timing. In many ways, following Jesus is similar.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;” - ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3‬:‭5‬ ‭NIV‬‬

When we follow Jesus, we learn to be still and listen. We watch for where He is moving instead of charging ahead on our own. Just like a hunter studies the land, we study His Word. Just like a hunter adjusts to the conditions, we adjust our hearts to His direction.

A good hunter doesn’t just wander aimlessly—they move with purpose. And a faithful follower of Jesus doesn’t live randomly—they walk intentionally, guided by Him each step of the way.

Patience. Focus. Awareness. Trust.

The same qualities that make a good hunter also help us follow Jesus well: slow down, pay attention, and move when He leads.
