“I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.”“O Sovereign Lord,” I said, “I can’t speak for you! I’m too young!”The Lord replied, “Don’t say, ‘I’m too young,’ for you must go wherever I send you and say whatever I tell you. And don’t be afraid of the people, for I will be with you and will protect you. JEREMIAH’S CALLING AND OUR CALLING

God knows us before our birth. He knows who we’re going to be even before we are anything. He calls us to a life we cannot know without Him, a life that is so wonderful, it is completely beyond our understanding. It is an awesome life of peace and holiness. He wants to give us a life of contentment, free from worry. Like Jeremiah, we often make excuses to God: “You’ve got the wrong guy; I don’t have what it takes.” But God, who created us, has a purpose and a plan. And He knows best.

Here am I, Lord, send me!
