The Door and the Shepherd

“Jesus said I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.” - John 10:9 NKJV

In this passage Jesus describes a new way of relating to God that people could experience. Drawing from the bond between sheep and their caring Shepherd, Jesus highlights trust. We can recognize the loving power of Jesus and rest in the security of his protection. Jesus also said, “My sheep listen to My voice. I know them and they follow Me. I give them eternal life. They shall never perish. No one will ever snatch them out of My hand” John 10:27 to 28 NKJV. Jesus says “I will give My life for My sheep.” Authentic relationships occur when others realize you are willing to die to yourself in order to lead and serve them, to show them the way and open doors to help them.

Father, today help us to be like Jesus the good Shepherd.
