Being in Christ vs. Doing for Christ
“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in Him.” — Colossians 2:6
It’s easy to think our value comes from what we do for God—serving, helping, performing, achieving. But Scripture reminds us that the Christian life begins with being before doing. Jesus first calls us to remain in Him.
“Abide in Me, and I in you.” — John 15:4
Branches do not struggle to produce fruit by effort alone. Fruit comes naturally when the branch stays connected to the vine. In the same way, peace, obedience, love, and purpose flow from staying close to Christ—not from striving to prove ourselves.
Doing without being can lead to exhaustion. But being in Christ produces strength, identity, and lasting fruit.
Today, focus less on earning God’s approval and more on resting in His presence. From that place, your actions will flow with grace instead of pressure.
Lord Jesus, help me remember that my identity is found in You, not just in what I accomplish. Teach me to abide in You daily so my life reflects Your love naturally. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Team Wade loves you and is praying for you 👊❤️
