I absolutely love the parable of the lost sheep in Luke 15:3-6.
The Shepherd leaves the ninety nine sheep, goes after the one that is lost, then throws a party when it is found.
“rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep, which was lost”
The exact same thing occurred with the parable of the woman who lost one coin while she still had nine other coins. She goes to extreme measures to find the coin and once it is found, she calls her friends and family together saying, “rejoice with me, for I have found the peace which I have lost.” Luke15:8-9
The same thing happened and the parable of the prodigal son. When the prodigal returned home, the elated father threw a party. Luke 15:11-23
These parables are describing the love of God for us. Love that is perfectly pure and unbelievably limitless. A love that will endure our pleasure seeking and self-centered lifestyle.
Jesus, perfect love for his father, and for humanity, moved him to perfect obedience, and this love moved him to remain on the cross until the job of redemption was complete.
That’s true love that should move us to throw a party!
Team Wade loves you and is praying for you. ❤️👊
