Strength for the Weary
“But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.” - Romans 8:9 NKJV
Some of us come into the Christian life wearing a 60 pound backpack. We are wanting to walk, we are needing to walk, but we are unable to walk because we are weighed down by the heavy load of darkness. For some of us there was abuse, for others it was parents who drank and showed very little love. It is different for everyone, but the effects of darkness are so similar in that they bring about a weak prayer life coupled with an anemic walk.
The beauty is when God saved us, He gave us someone to lighten the load and someone to lean on with the strength to carry us. That is the job of the Holy Spirit because God is well aware of the trauma in our lives. When we get saved we do not lose the flesh, we bring it with us into the Christian life. It comes along kicking and screaming all the way and it has no intention of letting go until death do us part. In fact, you may still have many of the same propensities and temptations.
This is why the will of the Father is for each of us to be filled with the Spirit. When we come to Jesus we get supernatural help to live the Christian life. That is why the Holy Spirit was given to us, that we might cast the burden of the load on Christ and live in the power of the Holy Spirit and pray in the light because He is the light.
Team Wade is praying for you and loves you and there is nothing you can do about it ❤️👊
