A Lift From the Lord

“I waited patiently for the Lord to help me, and he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along. He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what he has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the Lord. Oh, the joys of those who trust the Lord, who have no confidence in the proud or in those who worship idols.” - ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭40‬:‭1‬-‭4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The psalmist here is experiencing the depths of deep, dark emotions. His despair and depression were intense. He waited on the Lord, and he was lifted out of the dark pit. You've been there, haven’t you? Waiting on the Lord is admirable…if a person is truly waiting on the Lord. But it is common for passive or stuck believers to use "waiting on the Lord" as an excuse for not doing anything to move forward. It’s as though their ok being stuck. But God works in unique ways. He always desires to move in miraculous, supernatural ways to move his children out of despair and can do so with little effort. He uses friends, counselors, or by whatever means necessary when He’s ready and has completed the work he’s doing inside of us.

Prayer, Perseverance and Patience is our secret sauce!
