The Prayers of a Righteous Man

“Go back to Hezekiah and tell him, ‘This is what the Lord, the God of your ancestor David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears. I will add fifteen years to your life.’”‭‭ - Isaiah‬ ‭38‬:‭5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“You faithfully answer our prayers with awesome deeds, O God our Savior. You are the hope of everyone on earth, even those who sail on distant seas.”‭‭ - Psalms‬ ‭65‬:‭5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We read in the New Testament that God hears and responds to the prayers of righteous people. The Old Testament offers examples, such as King Hezekiah, who was righteous and faithful. Though he made some huge mistakes in his later years, God heard his prayer and extended his life by 15 years. Prayer changes us when we humbly submit and surrender to Almighty God, and God answers according to His good will. After all, God is rich in mercy and rich in grace.
