Loving the Truth

“You cannot love Christ if you do not love truth.” - Charles Spurgeon

“He will use every kind of evil deception to fool those on their way to destruction, because they refuse to love and accept the truth that would save them.” - 2 Thessalonians 2:10 NLT

This verse emphasizes the importance of living a responsible life as God followers. There is a great need to balance an interest in prophesied events with a commitment to living God centered lives today. We must keep our feet firmly planted in the present while looking toward the future, preparing for Christ’s return. But there are also consequences of not accepting the truth, warning against the dangers of false teachings and the importance of loving and adhering to the truth.

We must stay in God’s word and in prayer in order to know truth and discern deception. But in order for truth to make its difference in our lives and make its difference in those around us, we must walk it out.
