Rejoicing in Our Pardon

“If we have need to lament our sin, how much more to rejoice at our pardon.” — Charles Spurgeon

I wonder at times if our awe and wonder has faded when it comes to our sins being forgiven, our salvation in Jesus. Maybe we have forgotten where we were when Christ found us.

I read this morning of a Satan worshiper in prison who was on death row and, for his final meal before execution, physically ate every page of a Bible.

A hatred and disdain for God so deep and heavy that, out of mockery, he would eat every page of God’s Word.

Oh, that we would be so in love with Jesus and long to walk in obedience with Him that we would be willing to consume God’s Word on a daily basis.

Father, reignite the fire in each of our hearts to remind us of what we’ve been delivered from and what we’ve been called to.
