The Only True Satisfaction
“You will never know the fullness of Christ until you know the emptiness of everything else.” — Charles Spurgeon
“Jesus answered and said to her, ‘Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.’” - John 4:13–14 NKJV
I do not know about you, but I know for me, I have spent much of my life pursuing things, some good and some bad, looking for a satisfaction that never came. They say wisdom comes with age, and while I sometimes question that in myself, I know it is true in many ways. A few of the greatest truths I have come to realize as I grow older are:
Nothing satisfies like Jesus. People and things are not ours to fix.
The minute I stop seeking answers to questions and start seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, the answers come.
It all comes down to drinking from the right fountain. One never quenches the thirst, but the other leaves you never thirsting again. I am not completely there yet, but I want to be, and I long to keep drinking from the fountain of God’s living water.
Will you join me?
