“One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up.” Luke 18:1 NLT
If prayer was a top priority in the life of Jesus Christ, then it ought to be the top priority in the church He purchased with His blood.
Even Paul wrote to Timothy, his son in the faith, because he wanted him to understand how the church works as he pastored the church in Ephesus. We in the church should not fool ourselves into thinking that we can make things happen without prayer. It doesn’t matter how much the pastor preaches if the church is not a praying church. A praying church opens the floodgates of heaven to unleash the power of God within it.
That’s what we’re doing when we come to church. We aren’t coming to hear a sermon or a good song—we’re coming to meet with God. The pastor and the worship are simply vehicles through which God can speak to us, but they are not substitutes for prayer and our personal relationship and communication with Him.
