The Spirit Who Helps

“Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.” - Romans 8:26 NKJV

Did you know that it is impossible to talk about power in prayer without talking about the Holy Spirit. It is true, the empowering ministry of the Holy Spirit fortifies our prayers and causes them to be as effective as possible. The first truth we need to know about the Holy Spirit is this: the Holy Spirit provides Christians with a very powerful presence. The way Jesus comes to us today is through the dwelling person of the Holy Spirit. In other words, you do not have to go back in time in order to be with Jesus. There is no such thing as wishing that Jesus was here. He is. There is nothing mystical about the Holy Spirit’s work, but there is something supernatural about the Spirit and His work from beginning to end. - (Tony Evans)
