A Life of Worship
“Speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another in the fear of God.” - Ephesians 5:19–21 NKJV
Many theologians and Bible teachers say that the things Paul lists in the above text are the results of being filled with the Holy Spirit. Others say these verses give us the how to get filled with the Holy Spirit. Now let me assure us that we can enjoy these blessings to the full, whatever our view is, if we are filled with the Holy Spirit.
Paul is saying that the way we get filled with the Spirit is by making worship a lifestyle.
Have you ever left church on cloud nine? You were full of the Lord’s presence. What filled you was being in the environment of the redeemed, the family of God. What filled us was the intake of the Word, the inspiration of the music, the prayers, and all those things that add up to a worship service. We have come to expect that kind of spiritual experience to happen only during this hour and a half block of time on Sunday morning. But the way you get filled is to learn to do Monday through Saturday what you did on Sunday.
The way you get filled is to make your life a worship service filled with power and intimate prayer.
When worship and prayer become a way of life, that is when we make our orientation to God our normal way of living. When we begin to live in the environment of the Spirit as a way of life, when we are perpetually in a mode of worship, then we cannot help but be filled with the Holy Spirit.
Team Wade is praying for you and loves you and there is nothing you can do about it ❤️👊
