It’s Time to Grow Up
“...that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine… but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ—” — Ephesians 4:14-15 (NKJV)
Spiritual growth is not automatic. The moment we trust Christ, we are born again, but God never intended for us to remain spiritual infants. Just as a child grows through nourishment and guidance, a believer grows through God’s Word, prayer, obedience, and fellowship with other Christians.
Many believers want the blessings of maturity without the discipline that maturity requires. Growing up in Christ means putting away old habits, forgiving those who have hurt us, accepting correction, and trusting God even when life is difficult. It means moving from being served to serving others, and from consuming God’s blessings to sharing His love.
God is calling His people to maturity because a watching world needs to see steadfast, faithful followers of Jesus. The Holy Spirit is our teacher, and as we yield to Him, He shapes us into the image of Christ.
Today, ask yourself: Am I still clinging to spiritual childishness, or am I intentionally growing in my walk with the Lord?
Heavenly Father, thank You for saving me and giving me new life in Christ. Help me to grow in faith, wisdom, and obedience. Remove anything in my life that keeps me spiritually immature, and teach me to walk more like Jesus every day. May my life reflect Your character and bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Team Wade loves you and is praying for you! ❤️👊
