“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.”

‭‭I Peter‬ ‭2‬:‭9‬-‭10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

You ARE a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation. This passage makes it clear that there’s no question about who you are as a follower of Christ. You’ve been set apart! “Once you were not a people, now you are a part of God’s people. Once you hadn’t received mercy, now you’ve received His mercy.” Once you were blind, now you see, thanks to His marvelous light.

But you’re not just called to be set apart in title only. Don’t stop there! Being set apart by God comes with a plan of action. You are called to abstain from the passions of the flesh—the things of this world that you know aren’t right, but they feel fun at the moment—since these things wage war on your soul. So often it’s THOSE things that seek to define you and wedge a gap between who you truly are (a son and daughter of God) and tell you you’re something that may give you a moment of validation but are found in the long run to be only hollow identities. You’ve been summoned to a higher calling than that. Don’t sacrifice your part of a royal priesthood for a temporary identity.

You and I are called to live honorably as Christ-followers—not so people see you and think you’re so great. But so they see who God is through you—through your actions, your words, and the way you carry yourself, not in arrogance, but in humility.

So when you walk out the door today, remember who you are. When you hang out with your friends, remember who you are. You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation—a people for His own possession. And out of that identity, live. Point people to Him. Share His light and what He’s done in your life. And watch as He transforms you into who He’s uniquely called you to be.

Team Wade loves you and is praying for you ❤️👊
