Our Days are Numbered
“Whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.” - James 4:14
“Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” - Psalm 90:12
Life is fragile, and it is shorter than we often want to admit. We plan for tomorrow as if it is guaranteed, yet tomorrow is never promised. Scripture compares our lives to a vapor, appearing for a moment and then gone.
This reality is not meant to make us fearful, but mindful. Every breath is a gift. Every sunrise is an invitation. Every conversation is an opportunity to show love, extend grace, or point someone toward Christ.
Numbering our days means we stop wasting time on what does not last. It means we live intentionally, knowing that the choices we make ripple into eternity. If today was all you had left, how would you live it?
