Back to the Bible

“all the people assembled with a unified purpose at the square just inside the Water Gate. They asked Ezra the scribe to bring out the Book of the Law of Moses, which the Lord had given for Israel to obey. They read from the Book of the Law of God and clearly explained the meaning of what was being read, helping the people understand each passage.” - ‭‭Nehemiah‬ ‭8‬:‭1‬, ‭8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

More than once, we read about the Israelites getting lost. First in the wilderness with Moses, but their descendants later got lost in the swamp of ungodly living. Rather than live as God had called them too, they got off track. What did they do? They pulled out the books of the law to rediscovered what God required of them. Once again their standard became what God said rather than what they felt or wanted. All of us would benefit from going beyond reading God’s word and getting back to living according to it.
