The Privilege of Our Calling
Being called by God is one of the greatest privileges a person can receive. It means the Creator of the universe sees you, knows you, and invites you into His purpose.
In the Bible, many people were called by God; people who felt ordinary or unqualified. Moses felt he couldn't speak well. Peter was just a fisherman. Yet God called them anyway. Their calling was not based on their perfection, but on God’s grace.
The same is true for us. God’s call is not about being the most talented or the most prepared. It is about being willing. When God calls someone, He also provides the strength, wisdom, and courage needed to walk in that calling.
A powerful reminder of this truth comes from the Book of Romans 11:29:
“For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.”
This means God does not take back the purpose He places on your life. Even when you doubt yourself, God does not doubt His plan for you.
Being called by God is a privilege because it means our lives have divine meaning. Instead of asking “Am I capable?”, the better question is “Am I willing to follow where God leads?”
“Lord, thank You for calling me into Your purpose. Help me to trust You more than my fears and to walk faithfully in what You have asked me to do. Amen.”
