Knowing the Holy Spirit

“And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.” - ‭‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭16‬-‭17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

The Holy Spirit is not just a force or feeling; He is God’s personal presence with us. In Scripture, the Spirit is described as a Helper, Teacher, and Comforter. Jesus promised that when He left, the Spirit would come to guide us into truth and remain with us forever.

The Holy Spirit knows us deeply and works within us, shaping our hearts to reflect God’s character. He comforts us in hard moments, convicts us when we go the wrong way, and empowers us to live with love, courage, and purpose.

It’s easy to think of God as distant, but the Spirit reminds us that God is near; closer than our own breath. When we listen, pray, and stay open, we begin to recognize His voice: gentle, truthful, and full of peace.

Where in your life might the Holy Spirit be guiding or nudging you right now?

Holy Spirit, help me to know You more. Open my heart to Your guidance, teach me Your truth, and lead me in the way I should go. Amen.
