Vital signs- Thursday, January 19th, 2023

In our new identities, we are adopted children of God and belong to a new household! We have new names, new addresses, new home routines, new family budgets, and new food items – everything is different now that we are named as children of our Father in heaven! Sometimes we still think of ourselves as orphans, striving to take our place in this world and make a name for ourselves, to build up our own inheritance on this earth. We need to remember our true identities as adopted children.

“For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God,”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭15‬-‭16‬ ‭NASB1995

Pray with me-

Thank you, God, that you have adopted me as Your own. You have called me Your own child. I repent for the days that I felt You had cast me out or that I was estranged from You – that isn't true. I choose today to believe the truth: that You only think of me as a part of Your family. Nothing can change that I am Your child. Please help me remember that I am adopted by You and that You are my Father – Your role is to protect, provide for, and love me, and my role is to run to You, receive an inheritance, and grow up in Your household. Amen.
