Look When Good Ain’t Good Enough

“If we are to be saved by our own works, we shall be in a poor case indeed.” — Charles Spurgeon

“All our righteous acts are like filthy rags.” — Isaiah 64:6

Sometimes we think that if we’re good enough, God will accept us. We try to do the right things—be kind, help people, avoid doing wrong. But the Bible reminds us that human goodness alone can’t make us right with God.

Even our best efforts fall short of God’s perfect standard. That can sound discouraging at first, but it actually points us to something better: grace.

God never asked us to save ourselves. That’s why He gave us Jesus. What we could never accomplish through our own goodness, Christ accomplished through His sacrifice. So when you feel like you’re trying hard but still not measuring up, remember this: God isn’t asking for perfection—He’s asking for your surrendered life and your trust in Him.

Your goodness will never be enough on its own, but God’s grace is more than enough.

Prayer:

Lord, help me remember that my worth doesn’t come from how good I can be, but from Your grace. Teach me to rely on You instead of my own efforts. Thank You for loving me even when I fall short. Amen.

Team Wade loves you and is praying for you ❤️👊
