A Different Kind of King
Palm Sunday marks the moment when Jesus entered Jerusalem, welcomed by crowds waving palm branches and shouting, “Hosanna!”
“Then the multitudes who went before and those who followed cried out, saying: “Hosanna to the Son of David! ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ Hosanna in the highest!”” - Matthew 21:9 NKJV
They expected a king who would conquer; but Jesus came riding on a donkey, symbolizing peace, humility, and a different kind of kingdom.
It’s easy to praise God when things feel hopeful and exciting. The same crowd that shouted “Hosanna” would soon fall silent or even turn away. Palm Sunday gently asks us: Is our faith steady, or does it shift with circumstances?
Jesus didn’t come to meet expectations; He came to fulfill a deeper need: salvation, love, and reconciliation with God.
• Where in your life are you expecting God to act a certain way?
• Can you trust Him even when He shows up differently than you hoped?
Lord, help me welcome You not just in moments of joy, but in every season. Teach me to trust Your ways, even when they don’t match my expectations. May my praise be steady and my heart open to Your purpose. Amen.
Team Wade loves you and is praying for you ❤️👊
