Give Them Jesus
“The sermon cannot do any good unless there is a savor of Christ in it.” — Charles Spurgeon
And I, when I came to you, brothers, did not come proclaiming to you the testimony of God with lofty speech or wisdom. For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. And I was with you in weakness and in fear and much trembling, and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. - 1 Corinthians 1:22 ESV
I believe as long as we have Jesus we have nothing more to preach or to speak of. Because of Jesus’ love we have a song to sing and a story to tell, and it's all about Jesus. Until all things are made new there will be people looking for that something or someone to fill that emptiness inside, and His name is Jesus. I believe when we get to heaven, because Jesus is there, we will spend eternity singing and telling the old, old story of how Jesus makes all things new.
As for me, I will preach nothing else but Jesus and His love.
We have only today to tell our story. Yesterday’s too late and tomorrow has not yet come. Today, go give them Jesus!
