“As a father pities his children,So the Lord pities those who fear Him.”

(Psalm 103:13)

Imagine you have a son who comes to you and says, “Mom and Dad, I have been doing some thinking. In my prayer time, in my quiet time, I’ve realized several things. I realize that you have far more experience and more maturity than I have. And also, I know that you love me very much and that you would lay down your lives for me. Because of your wisdom and experience, and your love for me, I want to obey you as best I know how and bring honor to you.”

Now, would you and your spouse go into a back room and say, “Did you hear what he said? Ha, ha! We’ve got him now! What can we do to make his life miserable? How can we make him suffer? He will be sorry that he said he’s going to give everything to us”?

No! With tears in your eyes, you would say, “Thank God!” And you would delight to show your love to this child. God responds to us even more favorably. Don’t ever be afraid to trust your heart and your life to the One who loved you enough to die for you. He is Lord!

• Where might you have been hesitant to trust God with your life in the past?

• How are you challenged today to remember God’s goodness to you? How does this help you trust Him?

Take time today to Thank God for being a good and loving Lord who we can trust completely.
