“You were running the race so well. Who has held you back from following the truth? It certainly isn’t God, for He is the one who called you to freedom. This false teaching is like a little yeast that spreads through the whole batch of dough! I am trusting the Lord to keep you from believing false teachings. God will judge that person, whoever he is, who has been confusing you.” - Galatians 5:7-10 NLT
WHO IS HOLDING YOU BACK
Paul asks the Galatians, who is holding you back from following the truth? They were doing so well, but then false teaching and controversy seeped in and muddied the truth. The Galatians may have faced false teaching, but in reality, no one but ourselves can hold us back from following the truth. Every person must make their own choice every day to follow the truth and do the next right thing, or follow worldly passions and do the wrong thing. When we stop holding ourselves back, the Holy Spirit gives us the power to move forward in truth.
Our secret sauce is obedience to the truth.
