Vital signs- Saturday, September 9th, 2023

Have you ever wondered if you are where you’re supposed to be? I don’t mean at the right address (although I’ve been in that position plenty of times). I mean in life, in the grand, sweeping sense of purpose and direction and calling.

Are your feet (and your heart) where they belong? Are you doing what God wants you to do?

The questions ring loud shaking to the core. Because the truth is, we don’t know. And I find that terrifying. As each day passes we realize we get one shot at this life. And then the questions come one loud gong after another:

Am I where I belong?

Am I making a difference?

Am I loving well?

Am I walking in my calling?

It’s enough to make us fall into a heap, trembling and begging God for answers, not that I’ve ever been there…I’m thinking of a friend, of course.

While I don’t pretend to have this life thing figured out, I am grateful to be firmly rooted in my salvation, so I know what comes next in the eternity sense. But what about here, where there is so much to do and it all seems so urgent?

It’s easy to get swept away in the current of envy when it comes to calling, thinking the answer is in foreign soil or having a ministry that reaches tens of thousands. It’s easy to think it’s in the numbers or the zip code, but the only number that matters is the one right in front of you and the only zip code for this exact moment is where you are planted.

If you can look one person in the eye and find a way to show them the love of Jesus, that is exactly what you're called to do.

There are no red letters demanding we have a large social media following or write dozens of books or speak on stages to thousands. Jesus is pretty clear about what He wants from us, but it can be easy to forget.

Love God , Love People.

Following these 4 words will place you firmly in your calling every single time.

Lord, help me understand the simplicity of what You want me to do. Amen.

“And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.””

‭‭Mark‬ ‭12‬:‭30‬-‭31‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Team Wade loves you and is praying for you ❤️👊
