The Fire of the Holy Spirit
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” - Acts 1:8 NLT
One of the most confusing topics among believers and non-believers alike when it comes to scripture is the topic of the baptism of the Holy Spirit. I will allow the Spirit of God to explain through me in an attempt to simplify this complex subject.
The Old Testament scriptures focus on God the Father.
The Gospels focus on Jesus the Son.
The church age focuses on the Holy Spirit.
When a person trusts Jesus Christ through faith and repentance and is saved, they receive the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The fire of the Holy Spirit or the baptism of the Holy Spirit for the believer is not the receiving of more of His person but the activation of the Spirit’s power that we already possess.
When this occurs, it will be evidenced by the bearing of the fruit of the Spirit.
“You can identify them by their fruit, that is, by the way they act. Can you pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? A good tree produces good fruit, and a bad tree produces bad fruit. A good tree can’t produce bad fruit, and a bad tree can’t produce good fruit.” - Matthew 7:15-18 NLT
I pray that the fire of the Holy Spirit be activated or reactivated in us in a fresh, new way today.
Let’s burn for Jesus
