Vital Signs: Friday, October 4, 2024

“Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through Him, God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see—such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through Him and for Him. He existed before anything else, and He holds all creation together.” - ‭‭Colossians‬ ‭1‬:‭15‬-‭17‬ ‭NLT‬‬

SEEING WHAT CANNOT BE SEEN

What is God really like? It is one of the universal questions throughout the ages. Ironically, the answer has been obvious for over 2,000 years from the life of Jesus. Jesus is the “visible image of the invisible God.” The things Jesus did and how He treated people—these were God‘s own hands at work. Sadly, broken and bruised people who hurt us can distort our image of God. We must forgive those who hurt us, allowing us to accurately see and know the true and living God.

As God has forgiven us, may we too possess a forgiving spirit.
