Where Will You Spend Eternity?

“Come now, you who say, ‘Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit’; whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.” — James 4:13–14 (NKJV)

We live our lives making plans for next week, next month, and next year. But the truth Scripture reminds us of is that we never know when it will be our last day here on earth. We are not promised tomorrow. Life is fragile, and our time here is short.

Because tomorrow isn't guaranteed, the most critical question you can ask yourself today is: Where will you spend eternity?

The Bible is clear that our souls live on forever, and there are only two destinations—Heaven or Hell. Don't leave your eternity to chance or wonder. God doesn't want you to live in uncertainty about your future. Through Jesus Christ, you can have total assurance of your salvation and know exactly where you will spend forever.

Be sure about your eternal home today. Put your trust in Him, surrender your life to His grace, and rest in the certainty that your future is secure in His hands.

Lord, remind me of how precious and brief this life is. Forgive me for taking tomorrow for granted. I place my life and my future completely in Your hands. Fill my heart with the absolute assurance of Your salvation, and help me live each day with eternity in mind. In Jesus' name, Amen.
