Word Over Worry

“Half our fears arise from neglect of the Bible.” — Charles Spurgeon

“For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.” Hebrews 4:12 (NLT)

The Word. God's Word to mankind. Alive. Powerful. Sharp. Cutting. Exposing truth from lies.

It brings peace, courage, conviction, and confidence—allowing us to surrender to its truth, trusting that God will fight our battles. But with all of that power and promise, will we let the noise of the world distract us from spending time in it?

Father, help us embrace the truth that every answer we need lies within its pages. It is not about reading for knowledge but receiving its truth and living it out by the power of the Holy Spirit.

May we be moved with deep conviction to spend more time in God’s Word than we do watching the news or scrolling our phones. It is the difference between fear and peace in the midst of life’s storms.
