His Glory Alone
“Far be it from us to seek a crown of honor where our Lord found only a crown of thorns.” - Charles Spurgeon
“I am the Lord; that is my name! I will not give my glory to anyone else, nor share my praise with carved idols.” - Isaiah 42:8 NLT
It’s far too common as human beings to ask God to do a miracle work in our lives only to watch Him answer our prayer, then we take the credit for it. All throughout Scripture, we see that God will not share His glory with anything. In every situation, God will always make sure we get the ultimate victory, but He will also make sure He gets the glory. Only via pride and arrogance would I ever want to take the glory for something that I certainly could not do in and of myself. I have found in my journey that when we give Him all the glory, God longs and desires to lavish His glory on us. Yes, people will see the glory of God shining in and through us.
Today, may we give the Father praise and glory in every situation and allow Him to lavish us with His love. May we remember the crowns we receive in heaven are to lay at the feet of Jesus, not to hang on the walls of our mansion.
