Strength in Surrender

“The more weak you are, the more room for His strength.” — Charles Spurgeon

“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” - 2 Corinthians 12:9 ESV

Why is it so hard to be honest about our weaknesses? Why do we spend so much energy trying to elevate ourselves in conversations, often to impress people who either don’t care or already love us as we are? Pride, insecurity, or fear of rejection may be the cause, but Scripture tells a different story.

Jesus reminds us that His grace is enough and His power is made perfect in our weakness. That truth should free us from pretense and lead us into deeper humility.

So what if we listened more, spoke less about ourselves, and talked a whole lot more about Jesus?

The answer is clear.

Father, help us to surrender. In Jesus' name. Amen.
