The One Who Never Changes
“The seasons change and you change, but your Lord abides evermore the same.” — Charles Spurgeon
“The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever.” - Isaiah 40:8 NKJV
There is so much change that comes with every passing year. Some for the good, some not so good. Our knowledge increases, and when that knowledge reaches the heart, our love for Jesus should grow— that’s change. Our love for people deepens, wisdom increases— more change. But the body aches, hair grays or thins, and skin wrinkles— that too is change. And yet, through it all, our trust in the Father grows because of His unchanging, never-ending love. I’ve never seen anything more consistent than God’s love in my life. Yes, there have been seasons where His presence felt distant, but most often, I could trace that back to my own inconsistency in prayer and time in the Word. I urge us today to go somewhere new in our walk with Jesus by spending more time in prayer and Scripture than scrolling through social media.
Things that matter. Things that don’t.
We say we want change— but do we really?
