Revive Us Again
“O Lord, I have heard Your speech and was afraid; O Lord, revive Your work in the midst of the years! In the midst of the years make it known; In wrath remember mercy.” - Habakkuk 3:2 NKJV
Do you remember how exciting it was to buy that first home and get all moved in? Chances are you lived in that home long enough to know that a new structure does not necessarily solve all of our problems. Many people who have bought new houses are still trying to turn them into homes. The reality is that unless you fix the people who are occupying these houses, you have not resolved the problem.
Nehemiah and the people had accomplished a great feat by rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem, making it a safe place to live, and restoring the honor of God’s name. They had fixed the city, but now it was time to fix the people who would be living in Jerusalem by calling them to confess their sin. These people who had been exiles needed to hear God’s word again and get their lives in line with it. A spirit of revival broke out when the word of God was opened and read to the people, and they responded in an act of repentance and brokenness. Then prayer kicked in as a period of confession and worship broke out and the Israelites humbled themselves before God.
The more we pray, the more seriously we take God in surrendering our lives as broken vessels. Let’s continue to pray and allow God to bring revival to our world starting with ourselves.
Father, Please help us to stop trying to manage our own affairs and surrender to Your will for our lives. Righteousness. Holiness.
In Jesus’ name.
Team Wade is praying for you and loves you and there’s nothing you can do about it ❤️👊
