Vital signs- Tuesday, February 9th, 2021

“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.”

There is a danger associated with doubt. We can become double-minded and unstable. When we doubt that God is righteous and good, we will not be willing to obey and serve Him.  Believers must cling to the biblical truth about who God says He is in His Word. Our God is good, trustworthy, and just.

In what circumstance are you struggling to believe God’s goodness? A believer’s strength during uncertain times comes from trust and faith in God’s sovereignty and inherent goodness.  

Father God, I thank You for Your power and glory in my life.  Remind me that anything and everything good in my life is solely because of You.  Help me to focus on You and not my circumstances. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
