The Source of True Joy
“The damned are miserable; let the saved be happy.”
— Charles Spurgeon
“You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.”
Psalm 16:11
The Bible encourages us to embrace joy not merely as a fleeting emotion but as a deep-rooted state of being anchored in our faith. Throughout God’s Word, we discover that true joy springs from knowing Him, trusting His plans, and sharing love with others.
One of the first things we learn about joy is that its ultimate source is found in our relationship with God. When we focus on Him and His goodness, we find profound contentment that surpasses our circumstances. The Bible teaches that joy is not something to be chased in external things but something that flows from within as we walk with God. We can find joy in His presence, as He brings light to our darkest moments and hope to our hearts. By recognizing that our true happiness is rooted in Him, we open ourselves to experience joy in a deeper and more lasting way.
May the light of Jesus in us poke holes in the darkness of this sinful world.
