Treasure in the Cracks
Have you ever noticed when the bottom falls out and life gets tough that silence is the worst part of it all. It is easy to believe in the goodness of God when things are good. It is harder when everything is falling to pieces and heaven seems quiet. But what if silence does not mean the absence of God. What if the pain we are going through is not punishment? Suffering is not the enemy of spiritual growth. It is often the doorway to spiritual growth.
The apostle Paul says:
“We are hard pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.” - II Corinthians 4:8-9 NKJV
So watch this: our bodies, our fragile mind, our weak hearts are like clay jars. Easily cracked. But inside them, if we belong to Christ, is something unbreakable. Something awesome, incredible, glorious, something eternal. So the pain exposes the cracks. But it also reveals the treasure.
“My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.” - James 1:2-3 NKJV
So grab this truth before we go. These two verses are not a call to enjoy pain or to pretend to be happy about suffering. It is a call to reframe it. Think differently. “Count it all joy” means to assign value to it, not because of how it feels, but because of what it produces.
Bottom line, do not run from the pain. God is producing something eternal and something beautiful. He is writing a story that will last forever.
Team Wade is praying for you and loves you and there is nothing you can do about it! ❤️👊
