Pray Through the Pain
“As you are tempted without ceasing, so pray without ceasing.” — Charles Spurgeon
“Pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” - 1 Thessalonians 5:17–18 NKJV
Last night, I had the privilege of speaking with a grief share group. One of the most powerful moments was reflecting on the peace that comes from knowing our loved ones in Christ no longer face temptation, sin, disease, or sorrow. That truth brings hope for them—but what about us, still here, navigating a broken and bleeding world?
We continue to be bombarded by temptation, heartache, and uncertainty. So how do we carry on?
Paul gives the answer and drops the mic: pray without ceasing, and give thanks in everything. It’s not about escaping the darkness. It’s about staying connected to the Light.
Let your remaining days on this earth be marked by prayer, thanksgiving, and praise. And when you rise from prayer, go and poke holes in the darkness with the light of Jesus—for the glory of God!
