When Life Starts Falling Apart

Sometimes everything seems to unravel at once—plans fail, relationships strain, and the future feels uncertain. In those moments, Scripture reminds us that God is not absent in the breaking; He is working within it.

“God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1, NKJV)

Notice it doesn’t say God was present or will be present; He is present. When life feels unstable, His nearness is steady. Even when you don’t understand what’s happening, He invites you to trust His purpose.

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28, NKJV)

“All things” includes the confusing parts, the losses, and the delays. God can take what feels like collapse and shape it into growth, faith, and direction you couldn’t see before.

Lord, everything feels uncertain right now. Help me remember that You are my refuge when life falls apart. Give me peace in the middle of the storm and trust that You are working for good, even when I don’t understand. Amen.
