God's Call to Pray

In the Garden of Eden, we had direct communication with our Father. Once Adam and Eve were evicted due to sin, that perfect communication was severed. Nevertheless, God has never stopped desiring fellowship with us!

Prayer is the path to intimate communion with Him once again. The thing is, God doesn’t need to talk to us—He wants to.

Psalm 103:14 tells us, “He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust.” We don’t need to be afraid to bear our all to Him because the truth is, He already knows it all! Prayer helps us. God’s willingness to receive our transparency unburdens us—it’s one of the ways He loves us.

Throughout Scripture, there are examples of God inviting us to commune with Him, no matter the circumstances. It starts right in Genesis when God calls out to Adam and Eve immediately after they have disobeyed Him and are hiding (Genesis 3:8-9). Then, as now, God knows exactly where we are and what we need: communication.

Our Creator has always wanted to communicate with us. His desire is to commune directly with us. Nothing is off-limits. Choose to not do life without God. Answer God’s call to pray.

In 1 Kings 19, God calls Elijah out of the cave to discuss his emotional state after he wanted to quit ministry.

In 1 Samuel 3, God calls Samuel to reveal His plans for Eli’s family and to communicate Samuel’s next phase in life.

When was the last time you felt God calling you to PRAY?
