Vital signs- Sunday, February 12th, 2023

People often complain that they don’t have time for prayer. However, we always make time for what is important to us.

Prayer will not be effective in our life if it is not a priority. We should pray when we feel like it and when we don’t feel like it. I believe that prayerlessness is not a weakness, prayerlessness is a sin. It is a sin because by our lack of it we tell God, “I am independent; I do not need You.”

Prayerlessness began in the garden of Eden. When Adam and Eve sinned, the first thing they did was run and hide from God. Ever since then, the children of Adam have practiced the same habit.

Prayerlessness is a sin and sin leads to prayerlessness; these two things feed off of each other. Adam ran, hid behind bushes, and covered himself with leaves. Today people hide behind busyness and cover themselves with excuses to not go and pray.

Even if we've committed a secret sin, God is still waiting for us to run to Him in prayer. God knew Adam had fallen into sin, but He still said, “Where are you?” He expected Adam to show up and talk to Him.

Don’t let excuses, sin, or past mistakes cause you to give up on your prayer life. We cannot overcome temptation without spending time with God in prayer. I want to encourage you to prioritize prayer. We may think we do not have time to pray, but we have to make time for prayer. Prayer does not take time; prayer saves time. When we pray, we do not spend time in prayer, we invest time in prayer.

Remember that a sinning man will stop praying, but a praying man will stop sinning.

“Moreover, as for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord by ceasing to pray for you; but I will instruct you in the good and right way.”

‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭12‬:‭23‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

Pray with me-

Lord, may we desire to invest time with You in prayer. May Your Holy Spirit remind us of the importance of prayer, lest we sin against You with prayerlessness. We want You to be a priority in our lives,in the name of Jesus we pray, amen.

Team Wade loves you ❤️👊
