Vital signs-Sunday,August 30th,2020

“But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at night. But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation. For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him. Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.”

‭‭I Thessalonians‬ ‭5:4-11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Have you ever noticed that you don’t know you were asleep until you wake up? When you trust Jesus, you realize that you’ve been asleep the whole time, but in him you are awake and alive.

When you are awake, you are able to understand that the things of the world won’t give you the satisfaction you actually need. You’re able to see that the awards and spotlight don’t give off the same glow and that you can measure your success in Jesus, who died on the cross for you.

So go out today knowing that you belong to the day and not the night, you are not asleep but alive in Christ.

Prayer: God thank You for waking me up today. I pray You help me see things the way You see them and guide me in understanding I don’t need to measure success the way the world does.

“And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight—”

‭‭Colossians‬ ‭1:21-22‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
