The Still Small Voice
“Silence is one of the most eloquent answers God gives.” — Charles Spurgeon
“After the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire the sound of a low whisper.” - 1 Kings 19:12 ESV
Life is loud. Distractions are constant. We fill our days with noise, hoping for direction or comfort, but often miss the gentle whisper of God. Elijah expected God in the dramatic (wind, earthquake, fire) but God came in a whisper.
We often want bold signs, quick answers, or miraculous flashes, but God speaks most clearly in quiet moments. Not because He is hiding, but because He wants us to slow down and draw near.
Stillness isn't weakness. It is strength under control. It takes intentionality to pause and listen. To sit in the silence and expect to hear from God.
If the world feels overwhelming today, take a moment to be still. Mute the noise. Quiet your heart. And listen.
You may be surprised by how clearly God speaks when everything else is silent.
