They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. Feel-ology versus Theology

Paul warned Timothy about a time when people would abandon the truth and listen only to teachers who say things that make them feel good. Today, we face the same dilemma Timothy encountered. Many have abandoned truth-based theology, choosing instead to reject absolute truth because it can make them uncomfortable. Paul’s warning to Timothy shows that picking and choosing beliefs based on what feels good is nothing new. Sometimes, divine, transformative, healing truth ought to challenge and even discomfort us.
