“Moses said to Joshua, “Choose some of our men and go out to fight the Amalekites. Tomorrow I will stand on top of the hill with the staff of God in my hands.””
Exodus 17:9 NIV
We are made in the image of God, who is the great warrior. Our convictions constitute a great part of our mission here on earth- to join the Great Warrior in the battle against evil. It is this nature that will enable us to overcome the passivity and paralysis inherited from the fall of man. In fact, we regularly side with one or the other - The Warrior or with paralyzation in every decision we make, every day.
When we choose to stand on a moment by moment basis with the Great Warrior , our heart says, “I will not let evil have its way. There are some things that cannot be endured. I’ve got to do something. There is freedom to be had.” The heart of the warrior says, “I will put myself on the line for you.” Your nature is fierce, and brave, ready to confront evil, ready to go to battle. There’s a time to stop saying “why is life so hard?” Instead we partner with Jesus, taking the hardness as the call to fight, to rise up, take it on. Just as Jesus had to do to fulfill his life’s great mission.
Oh Jesus- forgive us for so much self protection in our lives. I want to be a part of your great mission. Show me the place you have for me.
I stand with the Warrior!
